Bilingual Outpatient Therapist, Cerritos, CA
Location: 10929 South Street, Ste 214B, Cerritos, CA 90703. Position will be partially field-based, requiring the therapist to meet in the family’s home, school, and/or community.
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Hours: 40 hours per week. Hours are Monday through Friday varying between 8 AM and 9 PM depending on the needs of the families.
Education: Masters Level Degree in Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy. BBS registration in good standing required. Spanish biligual required.
Candidate must have experience working with children and families in a clinical setting. Candidate must have a reliable automobile (mileage to be reimbursed), a valid driver’s license, and valid automobile insurance. Current DMV report must be provided, as well as, pass a background check.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Therapist job duties include, but are not limited to the following:
• Develop comprehensive psychosocial assessments, including mental status exams, risk assessments, substance abuse assessments and DSM-IV 5-axis diagnoses.
• Develop and implement treatment plans.
• Provide individual, group and family therapy.
• Provide crisis intervention services and facilitate hospitalization when necessary.
• Facilitate referrals to psychiatrist for medication evaluation
• Develop and link clients and their families with appropriate community resources.
• Complete paperwork in a professional and timely manner, including progress notes, assessments, coordination plans, services plans, intakes, discharge plans via the computer. This involves being able to sit for periods of time at the computer as required to complete paperwork.
• Provide in-home, school and community based mental health services
• Perform other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor or program coordinator.
