Parent Partner, Full Service Partnership

Agency: Community Family Guidance Center, Outpatient mental health agency
Location: 10929 South Street, Ste 214B, Cerritos, CA 90703. Position will be mostly field based, requiring the parent partner to meet in the family’s home, school or community.
Salary: $ 12 an hour
Hours: Full time position: 10-15 hours parent partner role. Remaining hours for group support within agency. Hours are Monday through Friday between 8 AM to 9 PM
 
Education: High school diploma or GED.
The parent partner must be Bilingual (Spanish/English). Must have had direct experiences with systems that serve children (i.e.: Mental health, child welfare, probation and/or special education). Must have life experience as a parent or caregiver (adoptive, kin parent, etc) of a youth with emotional or behavioral challenges. Must have a reliable automobile (mileage to be reimbursed), a valid driver’s license and valid automobile insurance. Current DMV report must be provided, as well as, pass a background check.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The parent Partner job duties include, but are not limited to the following:
▪Work directly with parents of children in the full service partnership program.
▪Participate as a member of the FSP team (including the primary therapist, case manager and program coordinator).
▪Meet with the family on a weekly basis to assist with advocacy, guidance, feedback, resource and linkage, encouragement, outreach and support. Helping families access and work effectively with the systems they are involved with (mental health, DCFS, school, etc). Help the family identify any cultural and linguistic needs they may have that hinder service delivery.
▪Assist the family to successfully engage with the program, services and staff.
▪Help the parent/caregiver identify their needs, role model new strategies, problem solve and promote the family’s success.
▪Maintain appropriate boundaries, confidentiality and perform duties in a professional manner that supports the agencies goals and mission.
▪Documentation via computer of services provided to family.
▪Perform other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor or program coordinator.
