CFGC Foundation’s Annual Golf Classic Shoots a Hole in One
On August 30th 2010, Rio Hondo Golf Club in Downey was the site of Community Family Guidance Center Foundation’s 20th Annual Golf Classic. The event received Corporate Sponsorship support from Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe, as well as sponsorships through the following individuals and companies:

The schedule for the day included a putting contest, barbeque lunch and a shotgun start at 12:00pm. The evening event included a cocktail hour, Italian buffet and silent auction.
Golfers enjoyed a beautiful day on the course and worked up an appetite. Everyone enjoyed a delicious Italian buffet and a chance to mingle and learn a little more about the Center and its programs. The evening program was mc’d by Dr. Bob Hughlett and included recognition of sponsors and an awards presentation. Richard Murase, Executive Director of Community Family Guidance Center, spoke about the Center and the importance of events such as these in raising private funds for the continuation and expansion of services. The evening program concluded with an exciting raffle and silent auction.
Through sponsorships and donations, the 2010 Golf Classic raised $25,870. The Center is happy to announce that $17,300 net profit will be used to expand and continue to support ongoing mental health counseling and child abuse prevention and treatment programs. The Center would like to thank all of our sponsors and golfers, whose support will significantly change the lives of at-risk, low income, and underserved children.
